Why we don’t individually wrap our toilet rolls

Feb 19, 2025

Individually wrapping toilet rolls… a divisive topic in the toilet paper world (duh, duh, DUH!) We get it, it does look ‘nice’ to have a different colour around each roll. But here at Cheeky Panda, we prefer our products being as naked as they can be so we can see that silky soft bamboo! Aside from looks, there are also some more important environmental reasons why we don’t individually wrap… Let’s get into them!

Individually wrapping toilet rolls is wasteful

At The Cheeky Panda, we believe trees look much better standing tall than wrapped around your toilet roll. That’s why we skip the unnecessary individual wrapping. Sure, some brands might say, “But it’s recyclable!”—but let’s be real, recycling still uses energy, and producing extra packaging in the first place is just wasteful. More packaging means more resources, and more resources mean more trees being chopped. And guess what? We like trees where they are, soaking up carbon and pumping out oxygen. So, let’s not wrap what doesn’t need wrapping—because fewer trees in your packaging means more trees in the world.

It’s extra work for you

Let’s be honest, changing the loo roll is already a chore. Do you really want another step in the process? When rolls are individually wrapped, that’s one more thing to rip off, one more thing to throw away, and, if you’re doing it properly, one more trip to the recycling bin. That’s effort! At The Cheeky Panda, we keep it simple. No pointless packaging, no extra waste, just pure, planet-friendly bamboo goodness. Because saving the world shouldn’t involve extra steps, it should be as stress-free as, well… being a panda!

It helps keep carbon emissions lower

At The Cheeky Panda, we like to keep things tight—not just our rolls, but our carbon footprint too! By winding our toilet rolls extra snug they are more space efficient, meaning we can fit more on to each container and truck, reducing emissions with every delivery. And when it comes to packaging? Same logic! Less extraneous packaging means less weight, which means we can fit even more rolls in, lowering the carbon footprint per roll!

So, there you have it—individually wrapping toilet rolls might look fancy, but it’s wasteful, extra effort, and increases carbon emissions. At The Cheeky Panda, we prefer to keep things simple, sustainable, and stress-free. Less packaging, fewer trees chopped, and a lighter carbon footprint on the planet. Stay cheeky, wipe wisely!
