What everyone wants to know (but is too polite to ask)
Our products are gently whitened with water-based bleach without the use of BPAs, de-inking chemicals, and chlorine. This allows us to produce white products that are neither harmful to nature nor to your health.
The way we make the products white is not considered bleach per se, as it is ECF (Elemental chlorine-free). Elemental chlorine-free (ECF) is a technique that uses chlorine dioxide for the whitening of wood/bamboo pulp. It does not use elemental chlorine gas during the bleaching process and prevents the formation of dioxins and dioxin-like compounds, which are carcinogens.
