Bamboo, loo rolls, and one cheeky idea that actually worked
Cheeky Panda started with a simple question: Why the hell are we still making toilet paper out of century-old trees?
It’s 2016. Andy Murray’s just won Wimbledon, Bake Off is still on the BBC, and everyone’s out hunting Pokémon like it’s a full-time job.

Meanwhile, married duo Julie & Chris are getting gloriously lost in South-East Asia—where, in between adventures, they stumble across mountains of bamboo.
Not a little. A LOT. It’s everywhere. And barely anyone’s using it, despite the fact it grows back super fast after it’s chopped down.
So they roll with it—literally. They turn that bamboo into toilet roll.
Not just any toilet roll. Better toilet roll. Softer. Stronger. Nicer to your wallet. And to our planet.
That’s how Cheeky Panda is born.

Fast forward: A brand, a movement, and a whole lot of tree-free bums, faces, hands…
Much like bamboo, the Cheeky team grew fast. Oh—and baby Leo showed up. He’s small, loud, and (naturally) took over quality control.
Now here we are, shaking up the industry.
Our goal? Less waste. More impact. A planet that isn’t falling apart. We’re doing it for Leo, for your family, and—honestly—because it’s just common sense.
Today, we’ve taken bamboo beyond the loo, tackling single-use wherever it lurks. Think period pads, face wipes, nappies, and more.
Our mission? Replace the disposable with the renewable.
We’re here to make bamboo mainstream. From bathroom shelf to nappy bag, we’re leading the bamboo revolution—and we’re just getting started!
