We love trees, just not in our toilets (or our bins). We think trees, frankly, have better things to do, like providing shade on hot summer days, or gathering in forests made for epic Sunday walk exploration.
So, we found a better way. A way that’s softer, stronger, and - most importantly - doesn’t turn forests into something you stick straight in the bin. Enter: bamboo. The ultimate overachiever of the plant world.
Bamboo: A Better Way To Grow
Bamboo is a fast-growing, renewable resource. Like, really fast growing - we’re talking up to 35 inches in a single day!
Let’s compare this to trees, that take decades to grow. Once you cut them, it’s game over: they don’t grow back, and the carbon trapped in their wood and roots gets released back into the atmosphere. Cutting trees also means destroying natural habitats, and putting biodiversity (i.e. cute animals) at risk, as they rely on trees for food, shelter and more.
Bamboo however? It’s an absolute superhero! Give it a trim and it’ll regenerate itself (almost) as fast as Wolverine. That means it doesn’t need replanting, so no deforestation or destroyed habitats, making it a win for both the environment and wildlife.
