Guess what day it is? That's right, it's Sustainability Day, and we're here to get cheeky about making our planet a better place. So, buckle up and get ready for a sustainable ride!

Put your paws in the air for sustainability! 

Let's talk about sustainability – here at PandaHQ it's our absolute favourite! It's all about taking care of the planet, making sure it's a comfy home for everyone, now and in the future. Sustainability is defined as ‘meeting our present needs without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs’. In short, it means lets not take more than we need, and let’s try to protect our wonderful planet! There are 3 pillars to sustainability that are all as important as each other, so lets quickly run through them:

Environmental Sustainability

Environmental sustainability is centred around protection and restoration of our planet's natural resources. This involves reducing carbon emissions, conserving water, protecting biodiversity, and minimising our waste. Small steps lead to big changes friends, and later on in the blog, we will give you some easy tips to help improve your environmental sustainability!

Economic Sustainability

Economic sustainability focuses on responsible resource management and fair distribution of wealth! To achieve economic sustainability, we must adopt sustainable business practices, such as the use of renewable energy, ethical supply chains and reuse and recycling of materials! This way we can encourage businesses to thrive, without depleting our resources.

Social Sustainability

Social sustainability means fostering inclusive communities where everyone has access to things like education, and healthcare! Promoting diversity and inclusion and speaking up for human rights are all important elements of social sustainability.

The Cheeky Panda's Promise

Each year, we renew our Environmental Policy – this is the commitment we make to protect our planet! Our 3 key objectives for this year include.

• Invest in renewable energy.
• To reduce our energy consumption
• To implement greener energy practices in our office environment.

Keep your eyes peeled for our yearly impact report where we highlight all our environmental successes and the areas we need to improve on, we aren’t afraid to admit we aren’t perfect!

Our top tips for being a sustainability superhero:

Reduce, Reuse, Recycle!

Be a recycling champ. Reuse stuff when you can and recycle the rest. Check our last week’s blog on recycling week to see which crafty household items often get left out of the recycling bin.

Dim the Lights (and kettle, and microwave, and TV...)

Turn off lights and devices when you're not using them. Did you know that your appliances still use electricity even when turned off? They are like little vampires!

Sustainable Travel

Try eco-friendly travel – like car-sharing, biking, or public transport. This is great for our planet and can save you a bit of cash too!

Planet approved products

Look for products that are kind to our planet. Check for brands that are FSC certified, and B Corp certified so you know the operate to the highest levels of social and environmental practice.
