International Day of Charity
International Day of Charity
September 5th marked the International Day of Charity. The aim of this day is to encourage awareness about the importance of charity globally. We proudly work with 2 amazing charity partners so if you are new here, let us break it down for you!
The World Land Trust
The World Land Trust helps to protect the world’s most threatened habitats and species. To date, The World Land Trust has protected over 2 million acres of threatened habitat across 20 countries. We work with the World Land Trust on our carbon balancing programme with our donations exceeding £12,000 to date.
Toilet Twinning
Our second charity partner is Toilet Twinning. This amazing charity is helping to transform lives in some of the worlds poorest communities. 1.7 billion people still don’t have somewhere safe and hygienic to go to the toilet and Toilet Twinning are helping to tackle that. To date, we have twinned 40 toilets enabling families to build a basic toilet, have access to clean water and learn about sanitation and hygiene.
We have lots of exciting project planned with Toilet Twinning so stay tuned for a charity updated in the next few months!
These aren't the only charities we work with though, (you might have seen our Christmas jumper campaign with Save the Children, a big panda wearing a giant jumper, how could you miss it?!), since 2017 we have donated over £17,800 to these different charities. At The Cheeky Panda we pride our self on balancing profit and purpose and with sustainability as our core mission, we know how important it is protect all corners of our planet.
