World Vegan Day
What and when is World Vegan Day?
Did you know that World Vegan Day kicked off back in 1994 to mark the 50th anniversary of the Vegan Society? Now, every year on November 1st, we come together to celebrate the incredible journey of veganism! It’s a day to reflect on how far things have come, share tasty plant-based knowledge, and inspire others to jump on the vegan train.
Why Participate in World Vegan Day?
Why go vegan? Let’s break it down:
- For the Animals: The biggie! Choosing vegan means giving our furry friends a break from exploitation and intensive farming. Instead, they get to live their best, happiest lives
- For your Health: Going vegan isn’t just kind; it’s good for you too! A plant-based diet is linked to lower heart disease, better blood pressure, and a healthy weight. Plus, it boosts your digestion and fills you up with vitamins and minerals!
- For the Planet: Meat production wreaks havoc, requiring tons of land and contributing to deforestation and high CO2 emissions.
- For people everywhere: a vegan diet uses only a third of the land needed for meat-based meals? With our global population on the rise, going vegan can help ensure there’s enough food and water for everyone.

This World Vegan Day, it’s all about LEARN, LEARN, LEARN! 🌟 Embracing veganism means making mindful choices that prioritize plant-based and animal-friendly products in every corner of your life. It might sound simple when it comes to food, but there’s a whole world of options out there!
- Clothing – leather and wool are big no’s and there are lots of alternatives like cotton or hemp
- Furniture – Look for sofas and chairs made from non-leather materials.
- Beauty products – from make up to skin care look carefully for those brands which are making sure they only use vegan ingredients
- Look out for the Vegan Society badge on your shopping. For example, did you know that MOST toilet papers aren’t vegan friendly as they use gelatine to stick together the sheets. Well not here! At the Cheeky Panda all our products, not just our toilet rolls, are certified with the Vegan Society. Just making that toilet, personal care, baby, kitchen and household product selection that bit easier! 😉
